I have Colitis and have had for 16 years. I really wanted people to understand it better so I used my experiences with IBD for my senior thesis in high school. The paper was submitted to several contests and won. My mother also gave a copy to my doctor who then had it published in a medical journal! I was very proud that I could use my experiences to raise awareness.
