be more spontaneous

Quick story…

I came home for a weekend… hung out with a friend who I haven’t seen for about 2 years and caught up with our lives… I hitched a ride with my friend the next to Pismo Beach to hang out with his FOB friends (weird to hang out with FOB-ish people again, haha). Spent the entire day there playing beach volleyball, frisbee, and touch football as well as had a couple drinks at a bar nearby before noon…

Fun times.

Okay, so I went to my “friend’s” place down in Vista on a Friday around noonish. I met his parents – they were cool. Then me and my friend headed off to Oceanside beach. There, we of course sunbath, had a small lunch of chips and pita wrap that we made right before we left to the beach(delicious). We also bodyboarded and skimboarded. Take 2 of trying to learn skimboarding. Since the shore was a little more flat than the previous beach we went to, I did a lot better – I DIDN’T EVEN FALL! Yay! (I still had a nasty ass bruise a week before that’s the size of my entire shin) Oh well…I still had fun. So, then we also made a fort of sand because the water was coming up too high. Went back to his place in time for a little bit of swimming in the swimming pool and then his mom cooked a delicious mexican dinner. After that, it was still early and we decided to go to Boomer’s (a miniature golf place). That was a lot of fun – we had one of those “high school dates”. After that, we went back home and sat on a bench in his backyard and star gazed and watched the city lights from above (he lives on a mountain so it’s an absolutely beautiful view). Then, we both got ready to go to our rooms and I was the last one to come out of the bathroom from brushing teeth, he played his guitar and serenaded me with my favorite song of the moment – Better Together by Jack Johnson. ^{_^}

The next day, we decided to head down south to San Diego. He took me to this Cabrillo Lighthouse place. It was a great view. I loved it. Then went more into San Diego and had Greek food for lunch, walked around the “village” and into shops and sat and listen to this band (it was kinda cheesy but I liked it – however he didn’t, it was too cheesy…lol) After that, went over the Bay Bridge just for the heck of it and drove around downtown area. Later that day, we headed back to his place and just took a nap cause we we’re soooo exhausted. Then played a little bit of Wii and decided we go out and he would take me to this Driving Range(?), place where you can practice your golf swings. It was my first time ever tried real golf and it was really fun. Finally, we went jacuzzing for a while. =)

Sunday, we spent most of the day at the San Diego County Fair. That was a lot of fun. Since I’m not a big fan on rollercoasters and spinning rides, the rollercoasters there were not too bad. I actually enjoyed it. Since it was a fair, it was a MUST to get funnel cake (delicious). Played some carnival games, watched a few shows, you know the typical things you do at a fair. Came back, had dinner at an Italian restaurant and then watched The Holiday.

There were a lot of random things we thought of throughout the weekend and it was absolutely fun fun fun! ^_

Just 2 weeks ago, after school had ended, I didn’t want to be stuck at home for the only week I am doing nothing. Luckily, 3 of my friends asked if I wanted to go with them on a road trip up to Sacramento and Lake Tahoe on Memorial Day weekend. It was like a day before they planned to go when they asked me. I was excited. I quickly got ready for that night since they planned to leave at 4am in the morning. It was a long ride up there, but I enjoy road trips so I didn’t mind. When they told me, I had no idea what we would be doing. It was all of a spur in the moment thing when we got there. Stayed in a crappy Motel 6, walked around a lot in Old Town Sacramento and around downtown, saw the state capitol (too bad we didn’t get to see Arnold), looking for things that would interest us (not to mention the heat was a killer, but that didn’t stop us). The next day, we drove to Lake Tahoe. It was all our first time there so it was exciting and beautiful. We drove around the entire lake that day (as well as going into Nevada!). We stopped at a few places around there, such as the Emerald Bay, the main street, and chilled at the beach (a picture of the beach is my default picture at the moment too). Then we drove back to Sacramento. The last day, we left to San Jose to check out the famous Winchester Mystery Mansion. I must say that was some crazy victorian house with a very eccentric owner back then. It was interesting though. After 2 1/2 hours of touring around the place, we then went to Santa Cruz to check out the beaches and walked around the pier, had clam chowder at one of the restaurants. Even though it was overcast, we still enjoyed it. Finally, our long trip back down to Long Beach – where we call home. Usually, I sleep on road trips, but I amazingly stayed up and kept everyone awake by playing games and asking questions. We got home around midnight-ish.

Fun weekend. ^_

Last Monday night around 8pm, my friend called me to say hi and how I’ve been (even though we just started to hang out a few days before). Out of nowhere, he asked me if I wanted to hang out that same night. He always wanted to try to be more spontaneous so that helped me out a bit because I didn’t feel like going out. He insisted and motivated me to go. So he picked me up and there we decided to go get some ice cream. Originally, it was DQ, but I said, why not try Golden Spoon. I only went there once and my friends always rave about it so I didn’t really know how to get there and we ended up driving in circles. Finally we gave up and went to DQ for some cookies ‘n cream on a waffle cone. Chilled at the parking lot and then went cruising around the coast. Then we ended up parked in front of a harbor that we went for sailing class and just sat there in the back of his truck. It was nice and sweet… (nothing happened, we just talked).

It was nothing spectacular, but at least its a start…

I was chillin’ at my friend’s house and it was midnight. All of a sudden, one of my friends said that we should camp out in one of the beaches, so we did. It was around 2am when we got there. There were about maybe… 7 of us? We set up one tent, the others had just their sleeping bags and one just dug up a big hole for him to sleep in. Others went bodyboarding in the cold, cold, cold ocean under the full moon. And I…forgetting to pee before I left the house, I had to go find a spot so I can dig a hole for me to pee in….so unsanitary and kinda funny at the same time. All in all…the whole night was fun.
