Like I said in my other post (which I guess was over a year ago…) it’s tough to say what counts and what doesn’t. So I won’t set any criteria, but I’ll use a little common sense. Here’s the states that I’ve been to.

Rhode Island – Lived here for 28 years
Massachusetts – With a state as small as RI, it’s tough to go too long without accidentally passing the border into a neighbor
New Hampshire – I like NH…It’s a great place to visit
Vermont – Most of the times if I head north it’s to NH, but I’ve been to VT a couple of times. Last time I think was skiing.
Maine – I can only remember going there once, for a white water rafting trip
Connecticut – Casino, Mystic, then 4 hours of nothing until you hit NY
New York – It probably wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t full of so many New Yorkers. I could do without the city
California – A trip to San Francisco years ago. Real nice city
North Carolina – Stayed with Luke for the weekend. It was a good trip, real nice state
Texas – Stayed in Dallas for a weekend while visiting family. Cousin wound up in the hospital so it wasn’t the best trip
Louisiana – Stayed for 3 weeks visiting family. Hot and flat and a bit boring
Pennsylvania – Went to Pittsburgh for a wedding for the weekend. That’s an underrated city.
Georgia – Was in Atlanta for a couple days for a funeral.
Maryland – Camden Yards is great. The rest of Baltimore? Not so much.

Looks like Ohio is in the works this summer. So I’ll get to knock out another state

So, what’s the general consensus on what to count and what not to count? I mean, I’ve been to Missouri, but it was only for an hour and it was only to switch planes. Does it have to be a longer stay? Because I was in South Carolina for several hours, but it was on a car trip and we never got out of the car. I drove through New Jersey once too, but we stopped for dinner there, so maybe that counts. I spent a day up in Vermont skiing, but never spent the night there.
