We didn’t always get along. Our fights were really horrible when we were young. But as we grew older we realized that we actually like each other.
I knew that she was the one for me when I realized that I’ve accepted her fully. Everything she is and she is not. And I know that she also feels the same about me.
I wouldn’t change a single thing about her.

I’m not as jaded as I think I am. No matter how bad things get, or how crappy the situation gets, the prospect of a happy ending still fills me with optimism. And no matter how often I get disappointed because things don’t end up the way I want it to be, I still think that next time would be better.
I’ve always been a sucker for this. I started out really young, reading Sweet Dreams and my mom’s Mills and Boon paperbacks. I grew up wanting to have and dreaming about the things that I read about. I’ve always pictured myself being swept away off my feet by this dashing, reformed rake. Whose sole purpose in life is to love me forever.
I kinda grew out of that. And I ended up with a princess instead of a prince. But I’m not complaining.

A couple of years ago, my dad was still alive then, an uncle came to visit. Since I’m already working and earning money, this uncle made a comment to my dad and said that I probably have a fat bank account by now since I don’t have any responsibilities yet like a family of my own. My dad laughed and led my uncle to my room. He showed him the stacks of books on floor, the groaning bookshelf stuffed to its gills, the books packed away in huge plastic bins, and the books that are stacked on my desk. And he said, “This is where her savings are.”
