find a job that makes me happy

So, today I applied for about 6 jobs, and have been trying to apply for at least that many everyday now. I have to start making student loan payments in a week, and it’s putting a lot of pressure on me to just find anything. I have applied for food service jobs, janitorial jobs, retail jobs, as well as all the office jobs I have been consistently trying for, and still have yet to get one call from any of them. I am beginning to wonder if it is really the economy or if it is just me that employers don’t like. Whatever it is I am going to have to try harder. I hate to abandon the idea of finding work that I will enjoy, but at this point anything that offers a wage will make me happy.
I know that eventually I will find something, I’m just really frustrated about it at the moment.

I’ve been applying mostly for clerical office positions. At the moment that seems like a job that I could tolerate and maybe do well at, but it would not make me happy.
On a more positive note, just looking at what kinds of vacancies there are out there, has really got me thinking about jobs that WOULD make me happy. I keep seeing ads for veterinary technicians and librarians, which are both things that I think would enjoy and get a lot out of.
If I decide to do one of these, I’ll have to go back to school because my bachelors degree in music doesn’t really qualify me for anything. I know that if I don’t make a decision and go back to school for a specific degree, I will have to keep settling for jobs that I don’t really want to do. I don’t want to live like that.

I have been lost for such a long time about what would make me happy at this time in my life, it’s kind of a relief to have narrowed it down to a couple of things. It’s a big step for me!
