I am working on building an emergency fund of $1,000. That’s the immediate goal. So far I only have $90 in it! But I am adding to it weekly.
I also started putting aside an extra $10 or $20 a week in my firesafe box. I did this in the past and it added up surprisingly quickly.
I am adding loose change and bottle refunds to my European vacation fund.
I am not a saver by nature. I have to work at this.

I recently started saving $100 or so each week and putting that in my regular savings account for emergencies, repairs, etc. Then I have my separate European trip fund which has grown (will be over $300 when my next transfer occurs this month) I am also still saving change for vacation.

I have an automatic deposit of $50 a month to my Europe trip fund. I haven’t done as well lately with my other saving. I had some unavoidable expenses that I did not plan on. 1 step forward 2 steps back. I have to remind myself that this a process and will not happen overnight.

I have $579 in my savings account now and $70 in a separate online savings account that I just opened. I am now adding $25 every 2 weeks to the online account automatically. I like to see it add up.

I just opened a savings account with ING. I started with just $50 but am adding $20 every 2 weeks. It all adds up, right?

That’s what I have in my savings account – LOL! But I have managed to leave it alone for a couple of weeks – an accomplishment for me. This week when I get paid I will add another $50+. I need to see the amount start adding up, so I can feel proud.

I like spending money more. On Friday I did put $200 in savings. But then I went to the mall and bought myself a new pair of sneakers, a pair of workout pants, 2 new bras. Then I spent over $100 at the grocery store. But hey I needed all that stuff right? I feel like I have a spending addiction.
