It’s now been four months since I decided that the time had come to change, to quit getting drunk and acting like a fool. With a slip up here and there, I’ve managed to hold on. The likes of Osval and Katy71 have been a great help and I think that all others in this site, could benifit from their knowlege and assistance. Whilst I’m not moving on from this goal just yet, rather celebrating four months normality and enjoying same. Good luck to everyone struggling with this thing…......

Time to start again…
Padmeister, stick it out, eventually you start feeling better then when you were drinking, my sleep has improved and not always thinking about the afternoon drink. As such, I’m no longer a victim of the alcoholic remorse regulary suffered by myself after a nightout, when I replay all the stupid crap I said and did the night before. Stick it out, Iaian fraser, Ellen, Marilashes…..........
I now feel like I’m winning, but must stay strong and never ever let my guard down! The Christmas/New Year period was hard, but I did it.
Mallo1, your last entry was inspiring – Don’t think your alone pal, your not! It really does seem to get easier – Time is what seems to matter. You need to find an alternative, mine has been fitness, rather then finishing work and drinking a bottle of wine or numerous beers, I now work out. Sounds strange I know, but it seems to work. After a training session, I feel good and to drink is the last thing on my mind. Good luck buddy.
Best thing I have ever done, I’m actually finding it easier to not drink then to drink. When out, no one really cares that I’m not drinking, rather they see me as someone who can drive! Unlike some people I know, Now I’m the sober one, I don’t feel the need to remind the drinkers of all the dumb shit they do! Trust me, I’ve done my fare share. Have a good one and keep going peoples!!!!!!!!!!
Osval and Diici, one month! I’m half way there, two Friday’s ago, I went out got drunk as one can possibly get, stories still coming in! But feeling good, saving money, clear head and feeling healthy.
It seems to get easier.
I have some friends that suffer from the same stupid behaviour once drunk and one of them has an interesting method when drinking (Did’nt work for me, but it still rates a mention). THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURNS – 1 beer = good return, 2 beers = good return, three beers = good/okay return, four beers = the returns are starting to diminsh now! Five beers = Returns are negative from about here on in!
One week, since going out drinking way to much and talking rubbish, holding in!
Excellent site, I’m not alone with this issue! First day after a huge night out, talking crap and drinking way to much.
