dance in public

If you read my I’ve done this entry you know about Ms. What.
Wanted to share an important lesson I learned here. A lot of my entries were about what song to play and all that prep and when I finally did it, it was really lousy elevator music (but then I can’t even tell you what it was, was too busy dancing :D.
So fast forward to another date and I’m once again with Ms. What and I go dance with me I’ll tell you about it :).
Of course she goes sure, I futz around to get the laptop to play a song (preferably from the list below) and she goes
“Honey, we don’t need music to dance”, apparently I’m someone’s honey (can you see the smile on my face :) ) and of course she’s right, you don’t need the right setting, or the right music (or even any music) to dance with someone, good lesson to learn :)

So I asked my first girl to do this with me (well I didn’t quite tell her the details)
I simply asked her to dance with me.
Got turned down (of course) but I figure this is a step in the right direction.

It’s not like I don’t date though, this was the first time I felt this is someone I’d like to dance with (metaphorically and literally), I guess she didn’t feel the same way, C’est la Vie :(

If you have been following this goal you’ll know I have 3 things missing to make this happen.
In order of least relevant first
1. The right song to waltz on
2. A way to play the music to dance to
3. A place (in public but not like a stage or a theatre or a dance hall (this has to be a place where dancing isn’t the norm )
4. Most importantly someone to dance with :( .

Anyway I have found a number of songs (check out the old entries on this goal). I had a number of ideas about how to arrange to play this music. I now have the perfect way to play music spontaneously, got a phone that goes to the internet and finds me videos to play (the Iphone)).
So I’m over set with the music part of this goal the problem is where and with whom (but you know that too if you’ve been reading the older entries :( .

Found another song for this (I know have enough songs but this is one works for another reason, been an Amithabh Bachan fan for years and loved the movie its from ( Satte pe Satta ).

The song Dilbar mere kab tak is about him singing to her (roughly translated : my sweet heart, how long will you let me suffer, I’ll set your heart on fire and you’ll melt in a moment (okay sounds more romantic in hindhi ).
This also points to the fact that I still don’t have an English song for this….

A friend sent me My Love Meri Priyathama (it was really difficult to find) an co-worker has an insane Hindhi music collection but she didn’t have this song.
I’d mentioned it in passing to a friend and she stumbled upon it and thought of me.
I wish I could tell her how much I apreciate this (so I write it here :)).

Now all I need is to find that special someone who will dance in public with me. I hope its easier than this song was to find.

The song is My Love Meri Priyatama it’s Hindhi (I know it narrows my options but hey so be it).

I have the perfect song for this. It’s in Hindhi (I’ll need to find a good English waltz song too (any recommendations ?)).

Anyway the song I have planned for this is

Have it in my car and my back pack (hey if I don’t prepare for this it won’t happen :) ).

This is about living another scene from Don Juan De Marco . This isn’t the one where they waltz on the beach (did that (thanks to Auntie L for teaching me and thanks to Ms. L for making that dream come true).

This one is the scene where he describes how his parents met and they began dancing in open yard of a bus station (with people walking by and not a care in the world). They were so oblivious to everyone else, they dance from afternoon to night and they are still not aware of the day going by.

So I guess this goal is to find someone who will dance with me in public and not care what anyone around us thinks :)
