5. Cubs came from behind and won their baseball game this afternoon. . . I’d been puttering around listening to it on the computer, it would have seemed like more of wasted afternoon if they’d have lost, but it doesn’t so much since they won…plus I was home to get the phone call!

#3 Ragin' Cajun Pecans 1 week ago

This is a new way to use slow cooker that I’d never tried before.

It was a big hit a recent party.

turn on slow cooker to high…let warm a little

one pound pecans and 1/2 cup olive oil

15 minutes on high

meanwhile mix together in a bowl

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon celery salt

(optional, I didn’t use) 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

stir in well to coat evenly

cook uncovered on lower for 2 1/2 hours stirring occasionally

pour out onto baking sheet to cool

keep in fridge for 4 weeks or freezer 2 to 3 months
