A) Board Members who feel they can do whatever they like
B) Religious Extremists who feel that God tells them to do whatever they like
Take your pick. Both extremely annoying.

Just finished writing up a grant proposal to get our boiler repaired. Brought it in to the foundation. They tell me no, the final application date was 2 weeks ago.
They told me the date on the phone. You have GOT to be kidding me.
and it’s going surprisingly ok. Running a whole library is a blast when you love your staff, and I do. They are a great, great bunch of people.
See pics here.
After a long search, I have finally found a job as library administrator for a small northern Manitoba community.
Feelings? Excitement. Fright. Naseau. Sense of overwhelming doom.
Being flown out for personal interview. Small town, but in charge of entire library.
Excited? Scared? Kind of half/half. Excitiscared, I guess.
Just had meeting with big mucky-muck in Library sciences.
Short result – feel retarded. Will never get job in library, despite overwhelming educational qualifications.
So far, I haven’t received even a nibble of interest. I’m already looking outside my city, and am honestly considering risking my relationship with my partner by taking a permanent job quite far away.
Very, very depressed.
Well, I’ve got my MLIS, and my girlfriend has a job, so I’m not starting to look for a job in the city. There’s a couple coming up at the University, but the competition will be fierce. I’m meeting with a librarian from another library for advice on how to have my cover letter stand out.
...is treating me like I ran over its dog. God, I hate this course.
