but it was so NOT. In spite of the wonderful 30% discount and the borrowing priviledges, I absolutely HATED it because of the corporate polices of the store (cough . . . Borders . . . cough) . . . one of which included a search of each employee’s belongings (purse, etc) each and every time he or she left the store, even if only stepping out for a smoke. It was offensive and annoying that they assumed that just because I worked for them, I was stealing from them . . . gee, maybe it was because they paid me SQUAT. I pointed two things out to them in employee meetings that they didn’t much appreciate – first, I told them that if I had been the sort who steals, I would have stayed at my previous job in a pharmacy where I could steal drugs, which would actually make me some money on the streets, and that second, had I been the sort who steals, I could have managed to steal from them without getting caught even though they checked my purse every time I left. Needless to say, they didn’t much appreciate my observations.
Anyhow, I quit the job when I found one in a hospital making twice as much and they had the nerve to be pissy because I only gave them a week’s notice instead of two. rolls eyes
Geez, I hated that job.
