Explore 43 New Places in My City

Well, first shame on me that I do not know the city I live in better. Let’s set this straight. I am not from the city, one-nil to me. I did work in the relocation business – performing orientation and home search for selected clients – for the past 3 years. Budapest won with knock out.
So, let’s start the quest. The other day I have followed my beloved one to a new place. Actually, we could not even figure where it was in the first place. Zsoka had an assignment to take picture about two places in the city. None of them were familiar to us. (Those bloody countrysiders!)
The place is named ‘Károly kert’ (Charles garden) and is located in the really heart of the city, only isolated. The V. district can be described as 3 different parts. Coming form north to south they are the – newer part down to the parliament, then on to the Kossuth – Rákoczi avenue it is the oldest and most central. To the south of this huge avenue – leading to the Elisabeth bridge – there is the elder residential part of the disctrict with tiny streets. As well as lovely spots that you seldom cross.
Well, if you are walking southward from Astoria on the Múzeum boulevard you have to turn right at the first intersection and there you are. Just a few hundred metres from the National Museum of Hungary. Well, yes but closed behind buildings and one way streets. The square resembles to a small sun lit valley in the Alps let’s say north of Sondrio, Italy. You can even smell the pines (closed eyes mandatory). If you have some fantasy and empathy, you can even replace the children noises with – let’s say – the noises of a wandering flock of sheep.
