To the beach 2 years ago

Went to the beach this weekend just for the afternoon by myself. Now that it is only a three hour drive, I want to do this more. Just listened to the waves, watched kids play, and mellowed out. It’s a pilgrimage for me to come here, and a place to be restored.



Candle scents are mood lifters 3 years ago

Sometimes being content means just an uplift in mood. Lighting a scented candle in my bedroom while I drink good tea, and read good books is a great way to be content while I wait for life’s larger developments to take place. This winter it seems like life is dormant, but I know I will blossum in the spring.



I've been thinking 3 years ago

It is the very nature of the universe that things break; things go wrong; we make mistakes; we screw up. So being content with what I have today makes a peaceful sort of sense and I feel grateful for the things that went right instead.



Being mindful 3 years ago

To help me be mindful of this goal, I have created a list of “things that I have.” I’m hoping this helps me maintain a mental state of contentment. One person I am reading today is Dhyani Ywahoo. I am reading about how setting strong patterns is the way to accomplish things, and that when you want to accomplish something you also need to be in right relationship with it. Then you can affirm in your mind that it will happen, meditate and work to manifest it. I’d like to set strong generous patterns as I journey through life. So what would that life look like? A full life for me would be focused on simplicity and joy through balance, grace, harmony, time, thrift, beauty, love, and sustainability.
