Get a kitty!

I found a shelter in the southern suburbs of Chicago, and went and adopted a gorgeous little black kitten. I named him Casper. He is wonderful to have around. After a month with him, I think he’s the coolest cat! He’s very friendly, loves to purr, and even likes to perch himself on my shoulder!!! He’s definitely a climber.

It’s okay to have cats in my new place!!!

So as soon as my environment is a little stable, I’ll be going to the shelter to adopt a really cute kitten!

I shared my no-kitty blues with some of my deployed friends and their families have sent me pictures of their kitties, so that helped me out a big, you know…

On the plus side, as of today, I am 98 days away from coming back from deployment, and my boyfriend, who will be moving in with me, has a cat called Ashes that will come and live with me as well, so in about 100 days, I will have a gray, fat kitten. :)

And I can hardly wait!!!

I was almost getting a kitty cat before I got the orders that I was getting deployed for a year. So I didn’t finish the “adoption” process, in favor of having someone adopt my kitty instead of having my kitty abandoned (since I doubted I could find someone to kittysit for a year!)

It’s been a little over 3 months in deployment, with 9 more to go, and everyday I think about having a cat. I am not allowed to keep one in the barracks, and I don’t think I could import a german cat to the USA at the end of my deployment either. But until then, I cry about not being able to share my love with such adorable beings.

This is a goal that I will accomplish when I settle back in a new house back home. Until then, I am hoping I can find a stray that lives outdoors that I can play with.
