Make my parents proud

hmm
they were VERY proud of my as level results for unit one exams.
They actually said so. Can I tick it off?

You would think that what makes them proud is your happiness.
Instead what makes them proud is to say that their child listens to them all the time, makes choices depending on what they want etc etc
If I stand up for my own beliefs, especially in public, they are embarassed.

I think they are glad I am their daughter but I think it is going to be the day I get that law degree they have always wanted for me to get that they will be at their proudest.
