...I had American Pie stuck in my head for that…so you can now sit there and imagine Don Mclean singing about the day the music died :)

Anyway, point, a long, long time ago…oh, about 6 years ago I had this plan to move to a bigger city and take massage therapy lessons in order to jump into a personal career giving massages and incorporating an emotional/counseling flair to it. I never got the chance to do that. When I arrived in the bigger city, I had to find a job so I would have a place to live, and scheduling just never worked out. I’ve been meaning to go back to school, and all of the business stuff I can do through work just doesn’t seem right. I also want to be a life coach…maybe I need to contact my current student loan providers and see what, if anything, can be worked out so I can get my masters in counseling, which would include my life coach certificate, as well as a massage therapy license…which in turn would help me lose weight with all of the exercise it would take to stay in proper form for it.

I think that might be a good route to go, however, getting out of debit would be little more difficult if I did all that :)

What I love about an Internet based business, is I can work on it whereever I am (that has computer access). I don’t have a laptop…yet, but when I do, watch out. I’ll have plenty to do off-line with it because I don’t trust a lot of the ID theft and hacking that goes on with Wi-Fi, but still, to sit around Starbucks and get work done sounds pretty good too me.

Today, I was doing work from work, lol. I took part of my lunch break to get some emails sent out and organized. What fun :)

The first order is placed. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive and post it on the net for the world to buy. Okay, I know it won’t be that easy, but I’m hoping someone buys our stuff :)

If I have time this week I’ll start creating some good product descriptions, then it won’t take me quite so long to get them up and running when they do arrive.

Okay, we have gotten all of our bank documents, now we just need to place our first wholesale order (which will be really small) and off we go :)

While we’re working on our reseller business, I still have another route to take for working from home.

I need to contact Bellevue University, but they thought they could finagle a Masters degree to include the 3 classes I would need to become certified as a life coach, and still have my job pay for it. If I could do that, then I could become a life coach and work from home, or at least get some consulting experience and become a consultant…which would be more enjoyable than what I’m currently doing…on a production floor…blah.

Anyone have any suggestions on how much I could charge for being a life coach? Just trying to dream about it realistically here :)

So far I have 5 sites listed that we can list our product on. We now have to weigh the importance of fees against exposure to find out what will be our best route.

Guess we have just a little time to figure that out while we wait for the bank stuff (jeopardy theme inserted here)

Out of boredom I set up my iGoogle home page for the business. While I thought the to do list I set up was great, the aquarium for the “office” rocks!!! I only have a few piddly things to get done before we can place our order…in two or three weeks…blah, I hate waiting. Have to wait for the debit cards to come so we can give our wholesaler the financials as well as get PayPal set up completely.

Like I said, hurry up and wait. Maybe I can get some really good product information and reviews set up before then on products I know we’ll be selling.

Really I just wanted to post so everyone would know I have an aquarium for my home office…even if it is just a virtual one :)

I didn’t place this goal in the number one spot on purpose, it just happened to be on my mind at the time…along with a list of other goals that were added in rapid succession. However, this goal is becoming one of my top goals, if not the number one goal in my life right now.

Currently my husband and I work opposite schedules so we don’t have to have daycare (which we couldn’t afford anyway). I work 4 days a week, he works the other 3. These are both full time jobs, so it’s not your regular 8 hour schedule…not to mention the 1 hour round trip drive we both have.

I really want to get this work from home thing going…seriously, so I can spend more time with my family when I want to. I’m putting as much of my focus into this goal because I can really feel our off schedules wearing on us. It was great when we both worked weekends and had 3 days off together plus one day a week to ourselves. Loved it!! Now we go to just seeing each other in the evenings…if that, I don’t much care for this. We were apart for over a year when he went to Iraq, I’m ready to just be a family together.

Nobody said life was perfect or that everything would come out easily. I recognize and understand that. I’m not looking for this perfect work at home job where I sit back and do nothing but spend time with family; that doesn’t exist. But I can be home to have meals with my family, get off early if I need to, break up my day or just take a break when I want and need to without the feeling of being micromanaged. I think we all want something similar to that deep down (except for maybe some of you hard core type A personalities…you know who you are…wear that title proudly…it’s not something I could accomplish easily!)

With all of that said, we’re almost at a standstill on the prep work. So now it’s just hurry up and wait. We won’t be putting anything on credit cards, so we need to wait for our bank card to come in to use for merchandise purchases. We did get the PO Box set up, should we need it. Baby steps…we’ll get there :)

I put in a couple of applications for data entry to some legitimate work from home companies. I don’t expect a response right away, and I plan to put in even more applications throughout the next week.

We got our TIN!!! We now have an official reseller permit!! I’m excited to place our first order! A friend of mine is thinking about getting some essential oils and empty bottles. She’s been making her own lotions, maybe someday she’ll have some she wants to sell. Another friend of mine makes candles, I told her if she wanted to sell them through me she could. It would give us more inventory and it would help get her name out there…a true symbiotic relationship. We just need to work out the details of who pays the fees :)
