practice the bassoon more!

I just did pit orchestra for the school play, so that was a solid 3 hours of practice a day for a week. I was terrible compared to the professional that came in to play. But if anything, I learned a lot, and hopefully improved. Mostly that my low notes are all really sharp and I need to work on my sound A LOT.
I need a new reed too…all my good ones seem to split or just disappear.

2 hours yesterday. I got the score for pit orch, and just read through it. I still have to figure out some tenor clef stuff (I didn’t even know it existed until a week ago) but I’m really excited about doing pit.

I practiced for like an hour today, mostly so I am not rusty when football season ends. I definitely am not, I’m just as good, possibly better than when I played last. Not sure how that happened though… I really need a new reed though.

I have had like no time for practicing this last 2 weeks. School just started, and all the work I had to finish before that. And it’s marching band time, so I’m busy memorizing the flute music.
Maybe I’ll make some time this weekend.

I actually got a good 45 minutes of practice in today. I really wish I could do more, but I have a bunch of flute music to memorize before school starts. I really need some practice though. I have all the fingerings down really well, but my intonation is terrible.

Maybe if I’m feeling really motivated I’ll pick it up some more.
