have an emergency fund

so, two years ago, I said $1000 would be a success.

Well, success! we got over a 1000 in the savings.

That said…

The money is also mingled with a nestegg for buying a house. So… I’ll wait on marking this as a success until it grows a bit larger. =)

after waiting so long, we finally got around to opening a savings account.

at the moment, I can’t really classify it as an emergency fund. there’s nothing in there yet.

I’m putting all my financial aid into it, so I won’t spend it on take-out. We’re also putting aside money for Otakon this august, and money for a downpayment on a house.

So not quite an emergency fund yet, but on the way. Once we have a $1000 set aside for the sole purpose of “emergency” I’ll consider this complete =)
