Read the Bible

Now that I’ve finished the Pentateuch, I’m going to take a break and read the gospels of Matthew, Luke, and Mark. Then it’s back to the Old Testament and the historical books.

I guess my “honeymoon period” with the Bible is over. It took forever to read Numbers. I wanted to jump to the Gospels after that, but hey, I only have one book left of Moses. May as well keep plowing through, right?

Thank the Lord for keeping me in this. I wouldn’t be able to do it without Him, that’s for sure.

I had forgotten my Bible at church and never got it back from the elder that found it. So I just bought a new ESV Study Bible and finally finished off Leviticus.

It’s sad how long it took me to spend the money to get a new Bible. This is the best investment of my money and time that I can make, and I totally dragged my feet on it.

It’s been taking me about a month to finish a book (at the pace that I’ve been going).

So far, the feeling of accomplishment has been the best part of this goal. I’m looking forward to getting to some books that aren’t filled with chapters about the exact deals of constructing the tabernacle. I’m not trying to criticize the word. But I want some stories! :)

I finished Genesis a few days ago. Wild book!

I think I added this goal about a year ago (or even longer ago). I finally started and hope to keep it going. I tried reading cover to cover a few years ago but was using the King James Version. Eww. I’m now reading the English Standard Version and am having a much easier time understanding what’s going on.
