When I went to college my hair was three feet long. I made some unwise choices with hairstyles (lots of rubberbands taking their toll), so I damaged it a lot and since then it wasn’t the same. I just left it that way for a long time before deciding to get a trim in February 2004. The hairdresser there cut it MUCH shorter than I’d expected and wanted. It was fairly devastating but I tried not to be too upset; at least for a while I could wear perky hairstyles previously unavailable and I would have healthy hair as it grew. It still doesn’t stop me from being sad that I don’t have LONG long hair anymore and that it’s going to take so long to get it back.
