be in a band

I’m in a jazz band and a wind ensemble at my college. This is not really what I had in mind when I made the goal to be in a band, so I’m leaving this goal up. I’m still holding out for a small, intimate musical group.

I told my dad today that I’m thinking about doing some kind of vocational art, and he wasn’t very happy. I reminded him that I probably have a lot of untapped potential, and he walked away after a little bit of an awkward silence.

yes! me and one of the guys (Jon) chatted for a while tonight and got some really cool ideas flowing. it’s coming like a zeitgeist, and we’re both thinking we should move forward. tomorrow we find out what the other guys think. I’m really excited!

I know some really talented guys who love music. I’m really into music. I think we might just hang out and see what happens for a little bit. I have some ideas for songs, and so do two other guys. They’re all guitar players and singers. I’m saving up for a djembe, and then I think we’ll be set.
