I’ve found a great way to practice the standing poses…. in the pool! The tree pose is SO much easier once you have water buoying you up. You don’t feel the stretch as much, though.

Oooh, I feel so masterful!
Is it wrong that I like to do this to silence? I don’t live in the city, so the silence is, well, silent.
Poses I have tried (the ones I have mastered are in bold):
Corpse, Cat, Mountain, Triangle, Downward-facing Dog, Warrior, *Child, *Tree, Butterfly, *Lotus and *Half-Lotus, Cosmic Dancer, Cobra, *Bow (I can only reach one foot), *Locust, Camel, Fish, *the Plow (which I can’t do – it’s marked Dangerous for the very overweight and you can see why in the picture above), the Bridge, *the Crow, and of course the Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation).
That’s all there is in the book. Is there a website that shows video of this stuff? Or how to do more? I want MORE!
Now I wish I’d gotten a book with larger print. Those teeny tiny words are NOT easy to read while I’m in position.
But that makes 3 nights now, in a row, of doing yoga before I go to bed. A friend told me not to try the full lotus yet so I’m only doing the half…other than that, I’m pretty good at keeping up with the book. Even did the Cosmic Dancer pose yesterday (seen above).
I am SO GRATEFUL that I live alone…. no one to laugh at me if I fall on my head, or on my ass….
