Now I’m having a yard sale (see previous goals) to get rid of most of the books I’ve amassed over 20+ years of collecting.
I started keeping every book I’ve ever read when I lost all my reading favorites in a fire at age 12. Since then, my library has grown from one box to one shelf to one closet to one entire room, just for books. I give the books away whenever I meet someone who could use a particular favorite of mine; but lately I’ve come to realize that nobody needs that many books in their home. Nobody.
I’m selling as many as I can (except for a few older ones that hold sentimental value, and the first editions, of course—may sell them on eBay for their real value).
