When you’re a kid, it’s worked into you that you’re not supposed to have sex before marriage. However, over the years, (especially the high school period), the line of what’s right gets a little blury. You want to have fun and act stupid. I think you know that you’re maturing as a person and a Christian when you accept the fact this isn’t your body and life to screw up. You don’t have that right. When you give your life to God, everything you do should be for him.
I know this is important, and I know it’s going to be hard.
The last guy I was with was a really strong Christian, and he helped me to realize it’s not about the physical stuff. One of the reasons we broke up was because we weren’t very good at keeping our promises to ourselves on this issue… and it broke my heart. The next guy I date, I’m going to date as if I’m looking for a husband, not a teenage fling. And when my wedding comes around in the years to come, my husband and I will be able to give echother the most beautiful gift possible.
