use my academic skills to help making the world a better place

this year i’ve done quite a lot in my career goals. i’ve started planning my biggest project which is the electronic magazine. we’re gonna launch it in the first week of january. but i have a lot more to do next year.

• volunteer
• start a master’s this year
• further my career by improving my skills and taking whatever the classes i think i need to take
• start a design collective and succeed

i’ve been doing good, slowly but good. i’m almost finishing the magazine website and after that i’m gonna start my other collective. i’ve postponed my plans to start a master’s for next year.

things that must be done in the next 30 days

• finish the first magazine edition
• sort out my portfolio
• start planning the design collective

i’m glad i’ve created this goal. i saw i inspired another person to set this goal to herself too. it already made this worth. but anyway, as i said, in my magazine project i’m gonna try to make some difference. since it’s totally non-profit at the beginning (and i don’t mean this to be really a money-maker project) we’re gonna try to make people think, not only consume.

besides that i’ve created another project which is gonna be another collective and this time is gonna be strictly for design. we’re gonna try to only make design projects for non-profit organizations, specially charity ones and for free, as a volunteering work. i think that’s gonna be a lot interesting.

some things to keep in mind for next month:

i want my job to really make a difference in this world. my magazine project is going to make a difference even if it’s subtle but it will make.

this is a nice goal and i’m proud of setting this. after trying to sell one of my academic projects i’ll re-set my priorities.

my postgraduate studies must be something that really makes a difference in this world, so i’m gonna plan out a project that takes that in consideration. not only my studies but my personnal projects may take this direction too.

I’ve remade all my goals and this is gonna be my new academic challenge. That’s a real goal and not easy or quick to achieve. I wanna make my career choice a lot deeper than just having a career or making money. I’m sure i came to this world for a reason and I don’t wanna live just because I’m alive. I want to make a difference even if it doesn’t get any recognition.
