get my driver's license

Last weekend we had quite a blizzard. Driving to school in it was scary. I live on a country road so it hadn’t been plowed. I couldn’t really see ahead of me—suddenly looked to the left and I was about a foot from the ditch (so i was on the complete wrong side of the road). When I got to school and shut of the engine, my hands were shaking because I was so nervous.

Later that day, I locked my keys in my car.

Some short time later, I almost got into an accident pulling on the highway because my wheels didn’t turn fast enough-and- I have a white car and I had forgot to turn my headlights on (it had been snowing heavy and quite foggy. my bad.).

Snow’s melted, slush is gone. Much better driving now.

Today was the first day I went to town on my own to pump gas. I had to call my mom and ask “What kind of gas do I get?!” Unleaded.

I forget waht direction i’m coming in and going in whiel driving in this small city about 45 minutes away. It’s going to take some time to remember what roads I take to get to what.

But, overall—

I LOVE having my license no matter what small hassels (or nerve-racking hassels) I get. I’ll get MUCH, MUCH better in time, I know.

and i passed! yay! I passed! Did “pretty good” she said. Though she said I couple improve on… well, seemingly, i make wide left turns. and don’t check intersections a whole lot. and slow down when changing lanes. but..I passed!

I DID have a close-encounter on the highway today, though. but that was AFTER the test. heh.

Definetly worth doing.

Next Wednesday. The 21st. Got my road test. Skills test? Uh… The test you drive for…

I Hope I pass. If I don’t… I’m going to cry infront of the person that failed me just so they’ll feel bad, though i doubt it’s going to have ANY effect on them. I mean, ya gotta be pretty hard to work at the DMV, eh? Just gotta crush people’s driving dreams sometimes, hm? lol.

‘ze on-the-road test will be on Feb. 21st. Atleast THAT way I can have my license before my birthday, i suppose. I HOPE that the roads aren’t slushy and snowy and whatnot, though.

About exactly 6 weeks…hmm…

Is my driving test date. Humm…

I’ve figured that I like: Straight, flat, empty roads the best. I like going up and down hills though, too. I prefer highways to town roads. I don’t like curvy roads. I like street lights. Round-abouts aren’t as bad as people make them out to be.

I don’t like driving when the roads are snowy-slushy, but that’ll probably be the condition of the road when I take my test…

I’m a speed demon- pedal to the metal! I need to work on that. ... I don’t turn my head as much as I should, I DO look with my eyes, but I don’t TURN my head, of which I’ve been told I need to do. I like to make Y-turns. I need to slow down sooner when parelle parking. I like having cars ahead of me, but I hate having cars behind me because it makes me feel like I’m not going fast enough. And another person saying “Cop” when I’m driving, well it scares the bejesus out of me.

Finally I got my instruction permit thing… A year later than everyone else in my class…but better later than never, hm?

Now… Just need the behind- the wheel… and to wait

SIX MORE MONTHS.

ugh. But… getting there.

Tomorrow, I take my test (on… something…?) to get my driver’s permit.

I better pass. I hope I do. I better.

I think I’m done with classes in another… 10 weekdays.

I go driving with my mom once in a while, and we we first started I had my hands SO TIGHT on the wheel and grinning like a fool out of being nervous. Lately though, I’ve been much more relaxed and whatnot. So that’s very good. Still a bit hesisitate about… meeting other vehicles though.

I tried Parelle parking once or twice. I thought “I bet this isn’t as hard as they make it out to be”... then I did awful at it. Then I got flustered because I couldn’t do it. Then I got frustrated because I couldn’t do it. I’m not good with failing… Hmph.

People have told me “It’s easy” though. I’ve gotten tips on how to do it. They say it makes it easier to do… I’m still awful at it, though.

BUT I DO KNOW… once I CAN do it, I’ll get the hang of it and chuckle and say “Well what’s so hard about that?”
But i DON’T know when that day will be.

Pft.

I’m not 18 yet… So I have to take classes… even though I could ALREADY have mine if it weren’t for those schdueling conflicts. Meh.

Start classes tomorrow… So… That and 6 months…I won’t be able to test until… Feburary ‘07.

Ugh.
