I am 27 and these episodes started in my late teens.
I believe (my educated guess)that the sleep paralysis and and lucid dreams are not related except for the possibility that they overlap one another. I have had sleep paralysis more times than I can remember (Dozens) and all of them are similar. I never have any hallucinations “leak” into my paralysis. I am always detached from my body usually floating around and completely conscious viewing things around the room in real time just as if I was awake like the tv on the same channel i left it, (except for the fact that I can see myself sleeping). I have never voyaged to far from myself always been scared (although I am hoping to have an episode in daylight to relieve some fear)
I had them almost every night in my first apartment then after a year I moved and in my new apartment It only happened two times in the year and a half i was there, and strangely enough they were two days in a row. Now that Im in another apartment they are happening more often again. Now my girlfriend recognizes when its happening to me because the yells for help come out like mumbles and twitches. I think study needs to be done with multiple people having OBE’s in the same room, can our spirits communicate? can seeing a familiar person in your experience help us from feeling scared. Lets figure out exactly what is going on.
When I was a child I would walk home from school, My mother worked a lot so it was tough for her to wait up for me to get home. One day she fell asleep on the couch waiting for me I came home knocked on the door nobody let me in, as a young kid I was scared and started crying outside. My mother at that moment had a dream in which her mother (dead at the time) came to her and said “doris wake up, Paul is at the front door and he’s crying because you won’t let him in” That moment my mother woke up with a SNAP and went to the door to find me crying. My mother said that dream was vivid almost lucid unlike most dreams.
Further in depth study is needed people.
Thank you.
