go vegan

so i been buying vegan food, the frozen dinners, pizza without cheese. i have been trying really hard to avoid dairy. i have been succeeding somewhat, i have eaten a few things that contained dairy but i have been doing pretty good. i shouldn’t eat vending machine food anyway, and it severely limits what i can buy from the vending machine at work.

i love how supportive my boyfriend is with this. except for the fact that he keeps pronouncing vegan wrong, he’s been awesome. we went to his parents house today and she offered us food and she had made this awesome summer berry salad, and she had made some grilled chicken to go with it, and before i could even say anything he told her i would have it without the chicken. I’ve been avoiding telling people i want to be vegetarian or vegan and just avoid eating meat most the time and they don’t make a big deal out of it. i did have some deviled eggs but i will work on that later.

i really want to go raw and i tried at the beginning of the year and it was an epic fail, so i decided to take smaller steps. by first becoming vegetarian. but i needed to do that is small steps too. I’m glad i never became addicted to caffeine or nicotine! so i cut out red meat, and now i am working on poultry which hasn’t been all that hard and then sea food, which i really don’t eat much of anyway so i don’t think that will be hard either, i can probably do both at the same time, and then i will work on cutting out ALL animal products.

the whole no pets thing doesn’t work for me thought b/c i have four cats that i didn’t get from shelters. one was a helpless kitten outside that wasn’t even weaned with no mother cat around anywhere. the other was a cat i got from a friend who had to many that i promised to take when i got an apartment that would take pets, and the other i got from my mom b/c she took a kitten from some kids who didn’t know what to do with it and she was afraid of what they would do with her if she didn’t take her, and the other is the son of the one i just mentioned, i had another one which was the father but i found a home for him.

i am currently working on finding homes for my cats b/c i will be moving into an apartment where i can’t have pets with my boyfriend 3 hours from where i live now, and i can’t afford to keep them anyway but i refuse to move before i find good homes for them. my mom will probably take one, and a friend who works at a animal clinic is going to post pictures for me so i can find them a home, just got to get the one more of them fixed before i can give her away.
