I want to keep introducing this principle to different areas of life, step by step. I don’t know, if this is the ‘to-do-list’ but coming back every now and then helps to make choices:
body
mind
attitude
friendships
love
work
management
health
self-confidence
discovery
playfulness
empathy
everyday surroundings

Getting rid of stuff I don’t need works best in this way. Every time I have thought, things can be improved through taking the whole day or week to clean or fix everything, I get exhausted long before I reach my goal. But this October I have made significant progress in managing storages and spaces slowly, piece by piece each day.
Kaizen is a way of life philosophy: ’to become good through change’, assuming that every aspect of our life deserves to be constantly improved, but its purpose goes beyond improvement.
- long-term discipline
- change the easiest things first
- eliminate waste (activities that add cost but do not add value)
- introduce one area and implement periodically an action plan
- hold on to each small gain you make
- 6 critical areas in Kaizen:
Discipline.
Time Management.
Skill Development.
Participation and Involvement.
Morale.
Communication.
this also helps in finishing my dissertation. well, it took some time to get myself into the habit to write at least something every day, sentence by sentence. but it worked! now its the last days before submitting it!
Walking each day, if possible, at least a few minutes. I stopped it for a while, but it has been surprisingly easy to start that all over again and keep it going.
