open an animal shelter

i see there’s so many of us out there that want to do this, we should unite to get the funding and then make shelters for all of our locations. hmmm, just a thought.

I have recently become aware that my calling in life has finally caught up with me. I love business and real estate but my first passion since childhood, is animals. If you are someone who can relate to this passion, maybe you too have concluded that it is very difficult to make a living in animal care. So, I’ve always put off my dream, hoping to build a little wealth to get my no kill shelter started. I have three dogs, only two live with me, 2 guinea pigs (chuck and peter) and currently 7 kittens and 2 adult cats. I started with 14 total! I’ve done an excellent job at placing the babies in loving homes and making sure that they had shots, spay/neuter, deworming etc…5 of my 7 are feral but they’re coming around. I have found in life that life really is a journey, not a destination and life is what is around you now.
I am now in a place where I do not have to stress about bills and debt. I have a business cleaning new construction which does well and I will be building my first house (for resale) in about 3 weeks. I have a total of 57 acres here and as a kid, it was my dream to have acres and acres of land to house all the animals in the world who needed homes. It won’t quite hold all the animals in the world, but it’s a start with plenty of room to expand. I think as humans, our focus should be on population control, not punishing those already here by removing their chances at a happy and fullfilling life. I recently listened to Dr. Wayne Dyer and he was saying that in our life, we start with NOTHING and we leave with NOTHING. So our purpose in life is to give our life away. So well put I’m so thrilled that I heard those words because I’ve always known this, I just didn’t have the words for it.
so, right now, i’m working on the business plan and incorporating and registering as a 501c3. I already have the land, I just need to get going on the facility. My property needs water and fencing to start. Then I will work on actual living areas for both me and whomever i am blessed to know in their furry form. If you want to donate to help out, I can’t offer the tax write off yet, so it would have to be a donation straight to me. I’ll put it in a savings account until I have an appropriate amount to progress to another step in this endeavor. I am calling my place, The Daisy Ranch, Inc named after my furry childhood soulmate who taught me so much about myself.
