Well, I’ve been doing so well with exercise etc. No meat, alcohol and plenty of water. My problem of course is that I’m not giving up the sugar and other junk. I am trying again. It’s funny because I never, ever thought I’d be able to give up meat, milk and alcohol. I guess it was just routine that I always ingested these things and it’s just routine that I’m eating sugar, drinking my coffee drinks and sodas. I actually have an aversion to meat and alcohol now. I cannot stand to have it in my mouth let alone my body. I want this so badly with the sugar. Yesterday, I took my kids to the mall and they had dr. Phil on one of the monitors. It’s as though he was speaking directly to me. He said “If there is something in your life that you are unhappy about and want to change then only YOU have the ability to make that happen”. I don’t always agree with Dr. Phil but he’s right. I’m the only one who can do this. So, with that said I will try again and post my progress (hopefully) this time…......
A good day to everyone.

Ok, as of yesterday I am down 3lbs! I have however taken up the sugar habit again but a friend of mine wants me to start running with her so if I can combine that with no sugar and junk I can drop up to 10lbs in the next three weeks. After that I want to lose another 20-25 by labor day. I’ll keep this post updated with my progress….....

Ok, I have to admit. I did well for a day and a half. I had a breakdown today and had chocolate, a donut and iced coffee. I think I can go until Sunday till my next “fix”. I had a lot of fruit today but I guess today was the beginning of withdrawal and I didn’t do well. The good news is that I gave up soda which I know is so bad. I will try again tomorrow and I expect to go longer and longer without sugar.
Until tomorrow….......

Good morning, I’m happy to say that I made it through the first day without sugar. I ate a lot of strawberries and that seemed to help and also I ate about every 2-3 hours and walked 5 miles. I have a little over three weeks to go and really want to do this.

Ok, I’ve given up smoking (will never go back to that it’s been 17 years), drinking (I used to drink a lot socially but I limit myself to about 1 drink a month if I crave it), meat-I had some last week and was so sick I don’t think this is something that I will crave that much although I do eat some seafood.
Soooo-that leaves sugar, processed foods and fast foods.
Since I gave up meat I haven’t really gone to any fast food places except to pick up food for my kids which I don’t want to do anymore. It’s not what I want them to eat and I buy a lot of whole foods so it is my goal to give these things up starting June 11th (tomorrow) through July 5th. I will be on vacation that weekend so I really want to be able to indulge and not worry about this. After that I will see how I feel.
I expect to be nasty, rude and unhappy over the next few weeks but I am withdrawing for a horribly addictive substance so it’s to be expected. It happened when I quit smoking, coffee (worse than the smoking withdrawal I think) and alcohol. Meat was no big deal as far as giving it up physically.
I will update my progress daily and hope that I can help others give this up. After approximately 3 months of not eating I expect that not only will I no longer have a craving for processed, unnatural and unhealthy foods but also have lost 20-30lbs as I exercise daily.
Until tomorrow….......

Ok, I haven’t been able to kick the sugar habit BUT I did give up meat with no problem. An extra bonus is that since I haven’t been eating meat I haven’t gone to fast food places because really, what else is there besides the fries and soda? Today I decided that I’ll take a big step and give up soda. I’m enjoying myself today and mentally I’m ready to give it up.

I have been losing weight successfully for the past few months but then hit a snag about a month ago and gained back 10lbs. I have a total of 50lbs to lose and now am down only 14.2. I’ve given up meat, alcohol and need to get rid of the sugar and fast food. I want to go cold turkey until the 4th of July when I will be going away. Anyone help would be greatly appreciated.
