I was so young when she passed it’s sometimes hard to remember things. I wonder – am I really remembering this or is it my mind making it so…? All I have are the childish impressions of a Mom who was very ill for a very long time. They come to me in flashes, good & bad.
My first real memory is from 1977 or so. I was doing my usual routine – plopping in front of Sesame Street at noon on the money, Mom brought me the usual PB&J.
After that we skip to my first day of pre-school in 1978. Mom stood in the driveway with tears streaming down her face as I happily waved from the yellow school bus. As an only child I was thrilled at the prospect of playing with others but she was losing her afternoon friend…
