get rid of bad friends

hey , its me again .
my friend ( her name is Ruby ) has fallen out with me . again .
in geography Ruby thought that I had told someone who she fancied . but i hadn’t . all break she’d been dead stressy with me and when i tried to explain she wouldn’t listen .
After break when we were all queing up for science i kinda cut infront of people in the que . but no one minded and usually Ruby and my other friends don’t mind if i cut the que to stand next to them .
but this time ruby says “Natasha ! don’t cut the que !” and i said to her ” you don’t usually mind .” but i go to the back anyway because i thought whats the point of cutting the que to stand with her if she’s going to be like that .
so in science i give her her space and i sit on a different table with some other friends .
our teacher gets everyone to the front to watch an experiment .
i’m at one of the front tables so i just turn my chair around .
Ruby sits on my table with some other people to see the experiment .
before we started watching the experiment i had left my pen out on the table because i was going to use it afterwards .
after we had all watched the experiment we all went back to our places but i noticed my pen was missing .
i also noticed that Ruby had a small lump or something that she was hiding in her sleeve .
and then i saw the tip of my pen . its very distinctive you see : shiny silver lid , special patterned side and a very distinctively shaped tip .
i checked throughout the rest of the lesson just to make sure that Ruby had my pen .
we were both smiling at each other as if we knew something we both thought eachother didn’t know .
at the end of the lesson i saw Ruby clearly putting the pen into her left pocket .
just when she was about to go i said to her ” Ruby , i think you’ve got something of mine ”
Ruby said no .
i said to her again ” Ruby i think you should give me it back now ”
Ruby said ” i don’t have anything of yours ”
then i said ” Ruby , give me the pen !” . i also grabbed her wrist because she was trying to get out of the classroom .
then Ruby said ” i don’t have your stupid pen ”
i let her wrist go .
she was just starting to walk quickly to the door when i said ” miss , Ruby’s got my pen . ”
Ruby stopped .
miss then said ” Ruby , have you taken Natasha’s pen ?”
Ruby said no .
then i said ” i saw you put it in your left pocket earlier ”
then miss said ” Ruby , could you empty your pockets please ”
Ruby did .
after she’d supposedly got everything out of her pockets there was something else was rattling in her pocket .
it was some chewing gum .
i said to miss ” i’m sure its in her pocket miss ”
i tried to get my hand into Ruby’s pocket .
she flinched away .
miss said ” Natasha , you shouldn’t go rumaging in other people’s pockets .”
then i said ” i’m sure its in there ”
miss then said ” Ruby are you sure that Natasha’s pen isn’t in your pockets ?”
Ruby said ” it isn’t in my pockets .”
miss then said ” Ruby can i just look through your blazer please ”
Ruby says yes .
Ruby hands over her blazer and miss starts to look through it .
miss pulls out a blue pen with a shiny lid on it . my pen .
i say ” thats my pen ” and miss gives Ruby a detention .
miss says ” i think you owe Natasha an apologie Ruby ”
Ruby says sorry .
I say its ok . you may think that i would have a very smug grin on my face but i didn’t . i was just pleased that i had my pen back as it was a christmas present .
As Oscar Wilde once said “Always forgive your enemies , nothing annoys them so much . ” and i did .
after this i was held the door open for miss AND Ruby .
after that she just walked quickly down the corridor and didn’t say anything else .
After the whole incident i kinda told some of my other friends – Catherine and Emily – ( well who wouldn’t ) it was definetly the best one i had ever got on Ruby ( because i am a bit of a pushover sometimes ) and that was that .
but later on Ruby and her other best friends – Ellie and Hattie – ( which i still don’t hate ) came up to me and they said ” thanks alot Natasha ! know my mum’s going to take away my rats , you got me a detention and you really hurt my wrist !”
frankly i don’t recall Ruby yelling out in pain or telling miss when i grabbed her wrist earlier . but i just said to Ruby ” i gave you three chances to give me my pen back and you didn’t . so i told miss .”
Ruby then says ” i was only joking you know . i was going to give you it back at the end of the day .”
i didn’t believe her .
i said ” no you wasn’t .” i was trying to keep my calm .
i said ” i don’t care what you say Ruby . i was right and you were wrong .”
i walked off .
i didn’t want a fight . i just wanted to forgive her and move on .
then she went around and told everyone about what happened .
and without me even hearing the story she had told the people crowded round her i knew she had over – exaggerated it in some place or another .
she even diliberatly sat next to my best friends ( that aren’t her best friends by the way ) and afterwards i asked my best friends ” did Ruby have anything to say to you then ?” and my best friend Rosie said ” she couldn’t stop talking about what happened in science with that pen . ”
soon afterwards she’d turned most of the people in my form against me .
to be honest , i could spread rumors about her to get back at her . but i won’t go down to her level .
the only reason people believe her story over mine is because she’s more popular .
with her loud mouth ( no offence ) , her big red hair and the kaiser cheif’s song ruby , she is pretty well-known .
but whats the point of being well known if you still don’t have many close friends .
i might not be that popular , but at least i’ve got my friends .

For the next two days the two of them seem to always have something to talk about . I wonder what exactly it is ? You guessed . . . ME !
They always seem to be whispering to eachother in the middle of lessons and they always seem to have the words : Shes just not apologising , I told her to and who does she think she is on their lips .

Last wednesday ( 21/3/07 ) in my R.E. lesson , I took my bag outside and I thought that my pencil case was in it . i wanted a chance to get it but i didnt need it so i didnt worry . nearly at the end of the lesson the friend of a friend says ” weres your pencil case ?” and winks at me . I say ” its in my bag ” and then the two of them start giggling again .
Later on the bus home I realize that my pencil case is not in my bag and i immediately think that the friend of a friend nicked it because she did wink at me and giggled afterwards .
I think i was pretty right to be suspicious , right ?

After that I kinda scowl and walk down the stairs . I then hear the friend and the friend of a friend laughing their heads off .
I couldnt beleive this ! The friend ( whos kinda no longer a friend ) had betrayed me and she asked me something in confidence when I didnt know that the friend of a friend was actually just round the corner .

I had this friend and shes always been a little moody , one day shes my best friend , the next day she doesnt even talk to me , but somehow , ive always put up with her . but she has this other friend that ive never really liked but ive put up with that .
One day i said this joke that alot of people at the time found funny , but this friend of a friend says stressily ” that isnt even funny . ” and then she looks at me like im a little peice of dirt stuck under her shoe . I say ” oh never mind ” and sigh and then i forget about it . but after that time this friend who said they had to talk to the teacher afterwards , says ” do you like ellie – the friend – ” after everyone had supposedly gone . and i said ” well . . . i dont really , but i dont mind hanging around with her if shes your friend , as long as you are my friend ” but then i hear the laugh of the friend of a friend stood around the corner listening .
