My dear internet friends never fail to surprise me

I put Big one’s Charity Donation page up on my FB page last night and this morning I awoke to over £80 worth of donations.
Then I had an email from my ex BIL letting me know that he had shared the link on his page in the hope that that side of the family will do something and he would be sending in a donation for her. As it seems Big one’s own Dad hasn’t done anything to get any help or support from his family or friends. :/

Big one asked her Dad

for some help towards the last bit of her fund raising. She told me tonight that he basically told her it was her own fault she’s not raised it all by now and that he’s not helping her.
Then…. he bought her a brand new laptop that she didn’t/doesn’t want and will sit in her room for the next year while she’s away and her wee sister got an Ipad.
She’s been so upset knowing that the money he spent on something she didn’t want or ask for could have helped her out big time with the last bit of money.
I will find the money for her to go from somewhere, I won’t have her feeling like she’s failed just because her own Father thinks something shiny makes up for the lack of empathy and support he is so obviously lacking in.

I've just sat at my kitchen table

and cried my eyes out. It’s all getting too real now

Still waiting on a final count

from the charity but it’s looking like we’ve just £800 left to raise -the final hurdle :)

A raffle

A lovely friend who makes the most beautiful handmade custom teddy bears has offered to run a raffle for one of her bears to help big one’s fundraising. This really has been a huge learning curve for me about who my true friends are I can tell you. People I have never physically met in my life have offered us more help and support than our own family members.

Anyway here is her blog post about the raffle which explains all the rules, if anyone would like to enter or help me promote it please do share. Thank you x

A huge thank you

to everyone of you lovely 43T people who have made a donation to big one’s Project Trust Fund. You are truly kind souls and we thank you so very much.

Stress

I swear I’m either going to go grey or acquire an ulcer. So much money to raise and so little time.

I’ve decided to share big one’s Virgin Money Giving link here. Every penny helps her towards her goal and I am extremely grateful to those friends who have already helped her out.

Coffee morning booked

virginmoneygiving page set up, wondering whether to share here or if that’s just too presumptious.

Sponsored head shave currently being organised. :/

Another

Christmas stall. £61 raised this time. This is no good :(

Had a stall at

the Christmas fair at wee one’s school this weekend with lots of homemade goodies.

We raised £52.10 :D
