Identify and Rid Myself of 43 Items of clutter

45. 2 scratched PC CD’s (kids games) well that’s what happens when they don’t put them away properly and they fall under the desk.
44. An ornament.
43. Various old magazines and catalogues off to recycling.
42. 2 old telephone directorys.
41. A chipped toy teapot.
40. 1 painting that I took out of the frame that I bought last week.
39. 1 broken photo box.
38. 2 tarnished candle holders.
37. A foot bath that I think I’ve used once in the last 7 years that it’s sat in my cupboard.
36. A broken parasol.

a cancer research charity bag plopped through my letterbox today so this gives me the perfect reason to go hunting for cluttter, not that I have to hunt very hard.

35. A pair of plastic salt and pepper grinders. Found hidden at the back of the spice cupboard. Gawd knows why it was kept, the salt cellar has a big crack up the side and the pepper grinder barely turns.
34. Various half empty bottles of things long since no longer required for fancy recipes.
33. Wee one’s old school shoes. Actually this was a difficult job, she didn’t want to part with them but they were worn through.
32. Big one’s old piano bag. It was ripped and no longer did the job.
31. Various bottles and packets of herbs and spices that were so old they didn’t smell at all appetising.
31. An old wooden salt cellar.
30. Big one’s old school coal, old as in it’s the coat she used to wear to primary school. She’ll be starting her 2nd year at the Academy tomorrow :/ Least now there’s a whole lot more room in her wardrobe, it was a huge padded thing.
29. 3 of wee one’s dresses that she’s outgrown, now given to her best friend who is about a foot shorter :)
28. Various items from the store cupboard that have long since past their expiry date – bad housewife that I am.

19. 4 plug guards (don’t know if that’s the proper name for them, the things that you stick in the sockets to stop wee one’s from sticking their fingers in them)
20. 1 plastic giraffe mug.
21. 1 fleece scarf that is too small for anyone’s neck.
22. 1 vest top.
23. 1 wooden photo frame.
24. 2 tea towels.
25. 1 pair of gloves..again too small.
26. 1 pair of old sunglasses.
27. Various kids clothes…guess, yep you got it, too small :D

• A tube of cream that I was prescribed 2 years ago. Yep that’s 2 years ago! I don’t even remember what I was prescribed it for but I obviously don’t need it now and would quite possible get a rash if I did anyway.

14. A tub of moisturiser that was so old it had dried out. Binned!
15. A tube of skin glow something or other, so old I wouldn’t want to put it on my skin now cos I doubt it would make it glow. Binned!
16. An old tube of masacara, why? Binned!
17. A tub of eye cream, again so old it had all but dried up. Binned!

These were videos that no one watches, no one wants to watch and no one will probably ever watch so they were taken off to the Charity shop today.

Unfortunately we had tears at bedtime over this one. I checked with big one who was the original owner of the said till…she didn’t want it anymore. Then we checked with wee one as to whether she wanted it anymore and No she didn’t. So off it went in the charity bag which was collected this morning.
Scene then moves to bedtime hour and wee one instigates conversation about wanting her bedroom moved around and her old shop being put up again…oh no the till!!! Aaahh!
Fortunately being a crafty family we were able to solve the drama by deciding that we can make a till and it will be so much better because we did it. Phew.

One is not too small for wee one and the other is far too big that by the time she’s grown into it, it would be one long standing item of clutter…so it goes.

Have some books that are big and heavy and with the new system of postal costs over here would cost me lots and lots so they’re away in the charity bag. Hey you never know I might get a BK journal entry on them ;)
