get my wisdom teeth out

I’ve been in such pain from the ones on my left hand side that I went into the dentists today and had them out. I thought he’d give me a consultation and ask me to come back later or something, but he just went straight ahead with it.

I got to bring home the teeth, and I might make a necklace or something with them once I get the other two out.

The one on the top right is through, but the one on the bottom isn’t yet. I can feel it just under the gum, but they’ll have to do an x-ray before they’ll try to take it out.

I can understand now why people come to Hungary on holidays to get their teeth done. Last year when I went for an x-ray and a consultation in Ireland, they just told me to come back later and ‘we’ll see’, and charged me 150 euro. Today I just went in, said that they were hurting me, and he ripped them out for 240 euro. Not too bad!

Still, it’s not my preferred way of spending Valentines Day.

I had a long chat with the dentist and she doesn’t reccommend having them out, for now at least. All the damage has already been done to my orthodontic work. I still have to check back every year for the next while to if anything has changed. I’m kind of glad really, if all the stories of how painful it can be are tru at least.

I also learned that I have been brushing my teeth far too hard and I’ve made my gums receed. She said it’s really extreme for a 19 year old and that I’ll probably get sensitive teeth. This is suh a pain in the ass because the last dentist I went to see told me that my gums were swollen and I needed to brush them better, and to get near the gum, which probably exacerbated it.

My wisdom teeth have been bothering me since I turned 16, and the way that they are coming through is ruining all the hard work of my orthodontist. If I don’t get them out soon all those years wearing braces and the pain I had to suffer will have been pointless. My teeth have already gone a bit crooked, but they are not too noticable. They aren’t as beautiful as they once were, sadly :(

I have an appointment for today at 10.30, and then they will x-ray me and reccommend me to a dental surgeon. I hope there isn’t some sort of waiting list. Also, one of my other teeth is starting to hurt and I really hope I don’t need a filling or anything…
