create my own website

I did take a teeny, tiny baby step last week: moved the domain to a hosting company and paid for a placeholder page and an e-mail account. As much as I can’t let this goal go, I can’t seem to get my arms around it entirely.

I have a blog and don’t need a personal journal type site. I have nothing to sell, but I would love it if the site could become sort of a sideline business or an avocation. But what???

Despite not populating this first domain I bought another one not long ago. This because the name is tied to a business I hope to open one day. That site I’m clearer about, but have no start-up capital and am not in a position to gather it…yet!

The web developer, who even has her own domain name, has no web site. I have owned it since about 1999. I tell myself I should just buy some space and throw something up there…it can always be a work in progress, right?

And then I say to myself, “what the heck would it be about? what would I focus on?” Um, my life story? My writing? Web development? My dogs? And I think about that and go, okay – who would be my audience for this stuff that’s all over the map? I hear crickets chirping. So I do nothing!
