I'm leaning again  — 1 year ago

toward pursuing massage therapy.

The school is very nearby. I could potentially attend during the week and continue waiting tables on the weekends. The massage therapy still seems like a better fit for me than a more traditional medical field such as nursing…

ok  — 1 year ago

I filled out an application to restart for the same degree I was working on before my mom got ill (ECE)...too begin again in the spring of next year. This is provided I choose not to chicken out yet again.

It occured to me as I’m looking at Lisa Murphy’s web site randomly today, and anytime anyone talks about the field in fact that I miss it terribly. That, despite the fact that I know there’s not much money to be made that’s what I feel I should be doing.

I pray that my stupid mistake and misdemeanor conviction do not prevent me from working.

I'm a mess  — 1 year ago

I got as far as enrolling in a massage therapy program but am really close to chickening out because of basic apprehensions as well as worrying what I will do once the baby comes. Part time? Drop out for awhile?

It’s an expensive program and I’m not sure it would pay off. Would I be able to make a full time career of massage therapy? Would I want to do so?

getting pregnant  — 1 year ago

was a convenient distraction from my going back to school plans which I doubt I would have gone through with anyway. I still think I could do a correspondence deal but I’m far too indecisive as to what to study at this point.

I’m fully aware that something has to be done, career wise…and soon.

I certainly  — 2 years ago

need to get out of waitressing. I do enjoy it to an extent but it’s getting old and these 11 hour shifts wear me out! I’m not so concerned with making a great deal of money just a reasonable living that gets me into something a bit more satisfying and potentially more long term than being a server.

I'm thinking  — 2 years ago

of Garden Design as a first option, wouldn’t that be lovely? I’ll just do some research to find out how practical that kind of thing really is. Also possibly social work or early childhood education.

I need to brush up on some algebra and see about an entrance exam etc…

Scary at this point in life, but exciting nonetheless. I certainly think I’d do better now than at 18…

The problem is  — 2 years ago

I have no idea what to study. I’m 30 years old! The things I’m interested in are extremely un-practical. I need to find a balance somewhere.
