I’ve had this new computer for about a year, and I still haven’t transferred the documents I need from my PC to my Mac.
I received a warning message today that my hard drive is too full. I probably need an external drive for my photography, but I just bought an external drive for backup, so that will have to wait. In the mean time, I’m going to burn the less important photos to DVD. (I’m making two copies, of course, to be safe.)
The nice thing about Mac software is that it keeps things pretty organized. I’d be one big mess without iPhoto and iTunes.

So apparently that horrible grinding noise my computer keeps making isn’t my fan, it’s my hard drive. Which means it’s probably about to go kablooie.
It’s been making the noise for about six months, so I need to get off my ass and start backing up my data. Which means I need to see what’s worth backing up and what’s worth saving.
Hold me, I’m scared. :[

As suggested by Gina Trapani, I created a Temp file in My Documents and set Mozilla and AIM to download to it by default.
A tiny step, but it’s something.
