Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

so, so tired

Multiple 8 a.m. meetings this week has left me dog-tired.

I am not a morning person.


goodness gracious

I’m sick right now (and feel like I’ve been sick forever), and I just got out of bed today. It’s after 1 p.m. I guess my body is trying to tell me something.

So I can get some sleep and get up and run!


I have GOT to get back on the wagon with my sleeping. I hardly slept at all this past weekend, and I haven’t had a chance to catch up yet. I have to get up really early tomorrow to run some errands with my mom, so I am going to try to hit the sack in a few minutes. I really want to get back into a routine that includes more sleep! I feel so rundown. :(

By 11 p.m. tonight…that’s good. I’ve been waking up super-early lately without my alarm clock. That is VERY abnormal for me. Even on the weekends. Ugh. I hope I can sleep at least until 7 or 7:30 tomorrow morning considering how early I’m going to sleep….

And oh…for those of you who probably think 7 is late…I don’t go into work until 10 a.m., so I could theoretically sleep until 9 during the week!


I am getting more sleep, but I’m still exhausted. Oh well.

I went to bed an hour earlier last night…around 1 instead of 2 a.m. Hopefully I can continue this trend and get to bed earlier and earlier!


It’s like I won’t let myself go to sleep before 2 a.m. these days. I’ve gotta change this!

I’m not doing so well on achieving this goal again. I need to get back into my 8-hour nights…I was feeling really good!
