Wow! It all finally came to pass. I got the book about 5 weeks ago and it looks awesome and I’m am excited to get it into teenager’s hands..It is up at amazon.com – borders.com and target.com and in our local bookstore soon. God really helped me get this goal accomplished. Hopefully teens will be challenged, encouraged and built up by it.
YOUR TURN!

I’m nearing the end of this. I should have my book in my hands within the next week or so. I will keep you posted. I hired a wonderful editor who challenged me and and kept me encouraged throught this process. My wife Brenda was amazing too and gave me the time to write. Amen!

So my manuscript is finished and I am excited to say that it has been handed over to the publisher and should be ready and in my hands and bookstores and stuff by mid-September…we shall see! I think this website really kept me going. So did my wife when I had writer’s cramp! Keep writing everyone!

I am about 80 percent finish with the Teen Motivational book…however I would like it to be just under the Christian Living genre rather than “motivational”. When it is finished and in the publishers hands then I will share more. I’m excited about it. Once it is finished I will finish up the scene book.

So I’m continuing to work on my scene book and am currently working on another project two that I’m pretty passionate about. It’s another book too but this one is motivational. Anyway, I’m done with about 20 percent of it and I really like it. I hope more people write entries so I’m not the only doing this. See ya

I spoke with the publisher 2 weeks ago and he said they hadn’t made a decision as to which pieces of work they will publish for the spring. He remembered mine and really liked my stuff. He said it would be another 30 days before he gets back to me.
The next day I get a random email out of the blue with aol.com on the end of it from a girl claiming to be the associate editor telling me while they thought my stuff was really funny that they aren’t looking at marketing my type of stuff at the moment. hmmmm but they are….that’s WHY I wrote the scenes.
So I send her an email back asking her what type of stuff are they looking for so I may provide that for them….never heard back from her.
Listen people….don’t let one person be your roadblock. I will get published by someone else then… out..

Today I have 28 sketches written and have not heard back from the publisher yet. I know it takes about 8 weeks but it’s been 4 already and it takes 30 minutes to read my stuff and make a decision…haha…my impatience is typing away!!! I have slowed my pace a little bit to really write some funnier stuff. I hope to have a good balance of drama and comedy in the mix at the end though.

As of today I have written 27 sketches. The publisher has had my letter and samples for a week now. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to hear back from them. The holidays coming up may get in the way of hearing back in a timely matter. I’m guessing after the first of the year.

Today I will be sending off a query letter with about 20 of my sketches to a publisher. I’m pretty sure they will be interested in my stuff since they were last year. In fact this is one of the publishers who said no to my one act last year but was interested in my monologs. I got bored of writing them though and switched to dialogs. It will take 4-8 weeks to hear back from them. In the mean time I will keep writing more and more.

Today I have surpassed the 20 mark with 21 Sketches now written. Next week I will clean 15 of them up and send them in to a publisher who liked some of my stuff. My goal is to send in about 80 and maybe they will like 60 of them to put together. If I had my way, I would title it: 60 Sixty Second Scenes for Youth Ministry.
