I don’t think I’d like being held that way nowadays! Especially not by my mom UGH. LOL
getting off the school bus and all I had to do was go inside and have a snack of cookies while watching Scooby Doo on the tellie. What a life! LOL
My favorite holiday was always Halloween and my family made such a big deal of it and from the looks of this picture our teachers did too! That’s me in the center in black dressed like a witch.
There’s some things about being a kid that are just so special. When Mark and I have kids we want to make sure they have wonderful opportunities and experience all the magic that’s involved with being a kid. We only get that truly magical experience during our childhood… the magic of simple miracles and ideas in our head like fresh frost covering due to Jack Frost, catching snowflakes in our mouth knowing not one is alike, building a snowman in hopes he’ll come alive, knowing that Santa Claus is real and his Elves are watching, knowing that those other costumed figures on the streets for Halloween may in fact be spirts instead of children, wondering if the wardrobe might take me to Narnia, wishing on a star, looking for the Easter bunny, looking for leprechauns and their pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, believing that our beloved toys could come to life like in the Velveteen Rabbit, believing in the tooth fairy, etc. I’m sure people here can think of all sorts of magical moments during their childhood.
Being a child was just the most wonderful thing. I’ve never really understood how anyone could think there is harm in celebrating holidays like Halloween or Christmas (I know due to religious reasons but I would hope they have other traditions to let their kids experience this magical feeling).
I’m just so thankful that, for the most part, I was safe and kept from harm during my childhood. I was very fortunate to have that.
I know the one is a Care Bear named Care-A-Lot maybe?
I think the moose is named Montgomery Moose. Was his cartoon called “The Get-A-Long Gang”? LOL, with PR now I don’t think they make practice of calling kids cartoon anything “gang”, it just sounds so ghetto. I think that was the name of the cartoon though.
I remember that I loved both those and Pound Puppies so much! I used to sleep with certain stuffed animals every night and I really thought that they would be sad if I didn’t cuddle with them LOL.
I didn’t own any Barbie Dolls and I guess I just wasn’t into them. I don’t remember why I never had any. I remember my little sister having them.
LOL, there’s my second grade crooked bangs pic!
Oh, croak! I look so uncomfortable in that turtle neck/sweater combo LOL! Crooked smile as well LOL.
