Long time no post 2 months ago

Hello everybody. Right now I’m reading Ulysses (and i think im gonna throw up) and it’s the 67th book i read from the list. Pending books are Lolita, Nostromo and A High Wind in Jamaica.

A Clockwork Orange / The Secret Agent done. 34 to go. 19 months ago

Hello everyone!

The Moviegoer done. 36 to go. 22 months ago

Terrible, dull and without any apparent purpose. The author hasn’t aim and lacks focus. His thoughts wander restlessly here and there leaving everything half baked. And details and descriptions and frock coats and red ties and brim hats! CAN ANYBODY TELL ME WHAT THIS NOVEL IS ALL ABOUT? I am familiar with novels where nothing virtually “happens” but this one has got the nerves of me. And stockbrokers? and businessmen? lawyers? Give me a f—-ing break! People will get the idea that New Orleans is a materialistic hell.

Next book is Justine (Book I of the Alexandria Quartet).

Portnoy's Complaint done. 37 to go. 22 months ago

24 hours after reading Portnoy’s Complaint I’m still not sure what to make out of it. Is it something to take seriously and recommend to your friends? or merely a dirty little book which you’d still recommend to your friends? But I’m certain that it left me harried and deeply satisfied. It’s fun to see guys like Alex Portnoy (or Porte-Noir, or PortNoise, or PortNose) suffer, but a part of me feels sorry for him too.

Next book is The Moviegoer.

Darkness at Noon done. 38 to go. 23 months ago

This hairsplitter of a novel is way too smart for me, although I did like the sum of its parts. A nice companion to the list’s Animal Farm, 1984 and Brave New World.

Next book is Portnoy’s Complaint.

Kim done. 39 to go. 23 months ago

This gave me a different reaction from what I anticipated. This is not altogether your everyday average adventure book. Kim’s on the most mysterious characters I’ve encountered. My dog’s name by the way is Kim.

Next book is Darkness at Noon.
