My husband and I went almost 5 months without eating in a restaurant. We fell of the wagon with a vengeance. Starting last Thursday, no more restaurants for us. Our goal is, with the exception of vacation and our anniversary, to make it an entire year.

Well, since I last posted, I have eaten only one “restaurant” meal. I use the quotes because it was fast food picked up Monday on the way to band practice.
I am still working on a way to have a portable dinner for Monday nights. It is easier when the weather warms up, because we just eat salad, like all the time. But right now, it is pretty chilly out, and we like hot meals. Maybe soup or stew in a thermos is the way to go. We’ll see.
Between all the stuff I throw away, and the extra expense of eating out, I figure to save about $50 per week by cooking more and eating out less. That is a whopping $2600 per year!!
Add the health benfits, and you are rolling!!!
