So, now that I can tick the marathon off my list, I’m still going to get up at 5.30am and instead of training, I’m going to finish National Novel Writing Month. Basically, you sign up at nanowrimo.org, and write for the whole month.
To ‘win’, you complete 50,000 words by the midnight Nov 30th. I’m a little behind (the marathon was on the 4th, so I only started yesterday), but plan to catch up to where I should be this weekend.
You just have to…
Write 50,000 words
Don’t go back and edit as you go or you’ll never finish.
Always remember that December is for revisions. The important thing is to hammer out a first draft.
I don’t expect to get anything decent out of it. The point for me is to get back into the habit of writing as though it were my job. (Even though it is my job. I just mean writing something for me and not for a client)
