be at peace

A dream of a place that I know but have never been before.
A time in my life that has not happened yet.
The woman I so loved, pretends to not care
She ignores me and turns her back to pour some tea
But I see through her I grab her and turn her around
We embrace and kiss like never before
Energized are our souls as one
with warmth and a briliant light that illuminates my room
Half awake half in a dream, I don’t want the light to go
With the dream I felt the peace that I seek.

When have I been at peace?
Sitting on the beach listening to the waves and watching the water meet the land.
Sitting on my rock overlooking the city at night watching the city lights.
Holding my kids in my arms when they were little.
Snuggling up with someone special while watching a movie.
Laying on a blanket looking at all of the stars.
Watching the moon rise above the mountains.
Wadding in the river fishing.
In church when there is the silent time for prayer.
Sitting next to my dogs.
Roasting marshmallows by an open fire.
Relaxing in a hot tub in the mountains while it is snowing.
Listening to the blues.
Sharing massages with that special woman.
While hugging, kissing, loving.
When building my house and at the end of the day when I step back and look at what I have accomplished for the day.
