I did it! I did it!

This morning’s lesson was a shamble. I kept popping my wheel over the curb and all other no-nos. I was nervous but I passed. I got four errors in total: one for scanning (I didn’t look hard enough at a railway crossing), one for position (My u-turn set up was very, very bad) and two for progress (one for not following his directions properly and one for being a slow-poke). Phew! Glad that’s all done!

Lesson 5 out of 5

Absolutely perfect drive today—even in wet weather. I fumbled a little with the wipers but all of my maneuvers were spot-on perfect. We drove past one of the examiners taking someone on their test. All I’ve got to do now is get to the ATM and withdraw some extra money. I miscalculated tomorrow’s costs. Oops! I’m so excited and nervous though. Wish me luck guys!

Lesson 4 out of 5

I’m getting nervous as I’m getting closer to my test. However, after this I only have one online quiz to take and that’s in a year’s time. I’ll never again have to take another driving test. This is comforting. I feel confident.

Today we worked on my maneuvers. In the test I only have to do three but there’s no telling which three of the six they’ll throw at me. At this stage I’m happy with all of mine except my reverse parking. It would pass in the test but I’d like it to be a bit more polished.

Lesson 3 out of 5

My mock test went okay. I was trying my best to be confident and assertive. It didn’t work. Note to self: just be your usual hesitant safety-first self even if you could have fitted in that gap. I had a minor mishap at a roundabout. I should have waited but instead decided to be assertive. Wrong. Had I done that in my test it would have been game over. My maneuvers are still not perfect. I think I’ll have to write me some notes to further ingrain it in my head. Ugh. Let’s hope tomorrow goes better!

Lesson 2 out of 5

I’d never driven my instructor’s car in the rain before. Ever. I thought I did very well and my instructor’s only comment was that I was a little hesitant. I’m still driving a little slower than I should because I don’t want to miss the streets I’m directed to go down. I also need to pay more attention to the indicators of the other cars at roundabouts. Otherwise, I’m feeling good about my progress and most importantly feeling ready for my test. I have a mock test on Monday.

Back Behind the Wheel!

I booked my other three lessons, which is great. Now I just have to focus on pulling everything together and calming my nerves before my test. Today was my first lesson in two weeks. I didn’t get a break from work and when I did, I slept.

Today’s lesson was pretty shaky. I was a little messy in my maneuvers but I’ve got time to nail those. I parked nicely and only got confused at one roundabout because I didn’t see one of the exits. So I really need to focus on looking and focus on my speed. I’m a little too slow and they mark hard.

Home Straight

Yesterday I booked the first two of my last set of lessons before my test. I’m nervous! It has been a few weeks since I’ve been behind the wheel of a car. I was just working so much. I’m planning to do a lesson every day (except the weekends) until my test.

Nearly there!

My logbook came on Tuesday. It had been processed on the 28th of September. Despite being frustrated at the admin errors, I went down to the Transport Office and expected to wait in a hideous line to pay for my test. Instead I was in and out in 10 minutes! Within the hour I had booked my test with my instructor. I’m a little nervous but I’m almost there! My test date is October 21.

Still nothing

I still haven’t heard about my logbook. On Monday/Tuesday I’ll be calling the Transport department to inquire where it is. It’s frustrating because without it I can’t go for my test!

Logbook

I’m still waiting for my logbook to be confirmed. It should have been confirmed on Friday. I’m a little concerned I haven’t heard anything.
