Spend more time with my oldest son this summer

But what a great summer we had!

We went camping and swimming to the park had a big birthday party for him as well as his brother and just had a real good time.

What a great summer! I hope to top it next year :)

Had a great time with my son. Went to the amusement park rode all the rides we could and just had fun. He seems to be growing up so fast….

Taking the day off work and pulling the boy out of school :) It family day and we’ll head out to the theme park tomorrow.

He’s such a good kid. Sometimes I think he deserves a better dad than me. I working on spending more time, we BBQ’d dinner last night it was fun. I explained why the oil had to go on the grill and how everything works. I think we’ll go to see a movie this weekend just him and I.

He’s growing up so fast. He is not even five and he seems as bright as any teenager I have come across, just more friendly :o) Spent some time outside just watching him play with his friend next door.

You know as you get older family becomes more and more important. We had a great weeekend. Took the boy to gymnastics on Saturday then we went and got haircuts together and did a bit of shopping. Sunday we had some friends over for a BBQ and had a good time in the backyard. Monday (wheeee long weekend) we had a great time at the fair and then we had my mom over for dinner. The boy was sooooo good and well behaved, he’s quite possibly my best blessing I have ever received. He fills me with so much love.

Well for the most part… The boy and I had some issues Saturday regarding his going to bed. He like to take the blankets from the family room upstairs when he goes upstairs. He says he is cold. Well I snapped at him pretty bad. He was very upset that I yelled, I was upset that I had yelled, I’ve never yelled like that before at him. So we had a long talk about how he needs to listen more and stop negotiating everything. Sunday was great though, it was mother’s day, I had fallen asleep on the couch Saturday night and he came down stairs to wake me up in the morning. He wanted to play on the computer and I told him he needed to finish his home work first and he did with out a battle which was great. I got up and strted on breakfast which he helped with. The baby started stiring so I got him downstairs so he wouldn’t wake up my wife. We headed upstairs to wake mom up and give her breakfast in bed. It was good. We lounged around the house for a few then headed out to my mom’s place to let her dogs out. it was good he was good and we had some fun. We stopped at the McDonalds on the way home to get some lunch and he played in the playland for 20 or 30 minutes and he asked me to play air hockey with him so we had a game and it was fun. It felt really good to be with him… I think I am now understanding the bonds that a father and son have and how important it is for a father and son to spend time together. He truly is the bright spot for me everyday. This morning when I was leaving for work he kept wanting to give me hugs and kisses goodbye. Dang I love that kid!

Who knew hanging out with a 5 yearold would be so much fun lol

I tought him about airtools last night he thought it was cool to wear the safety glasses and shoot a brad nail into a piece of wood.

to have a little guy that idolizes you. He’s so funny he always wants to help me with whatever i am doing :)

I really need to start making more time for him. I did scoot away from work on Wednesday to watch him do a little dance thing at school. It was very cute, he was telling everyone that would listen that I was his dad and pointing at me. I really feel bad some days when I don’t get to spend time with him. He seems to really hold me in such a high regard, some days I don’t think I deserve it.
