Today we had a walk across the river, the weather is like usually; rainy, sunny, humid, hot and cold, shortly “awful” but something was different. THE SMELL. I don’t know why or where but i smelt the sea today, coming from the deep of my heart, patting my soul, i remembered it like an old friend. Who is forgotten long ago and instantly recalled, which brings thousands of memories with. I miss you and remember you.
That photo is from 1870 Istanbul Hisar which today is one of the most popular places for breakfast and evening tea.

The “Kiz Kulesi” Tower and The Bosphorus, where the sea forms a neck it is seen like a necklace, i miss the fish scent with iode.

I grew up in a city where everthing is related with “sea”. The adventure of city starts with ionians as a fisher village, as the time goes by it is prospered. The best times of the city was in Ottoman period. As the war strengthened on the north, the city of Istanbul was no more safe for docking, all traders preferred the docks of Izmir(Smyrna) than richness flourished. I am far far away from my hometown but living with the idea “One day…”
*the picture was taken very long time ago, i think my grandfather was a boy at that time(grandfather born at 1901)
