31 - Finish reading the Clan of the Cave Bear series 11 months ago

I read the first 3 books in the Earth’s Children series a long, long time ago & re-read the first 2 books in 2008 – The Clan of the Cave Bear & The Valley of the Horses.

Next up is book 3, The Mammoth Hunters, that I have a copy of. There are 2 more books, The Plains of Passage & the Shelters of Stone that I need to find copies of (check the library after reading book 3) & another book is yet to be finished.

I amy not achieve my goal if the book is un-finished by 11 May 2011, but I hadn’t realised there was another book due out when I set this goal. I’ll adjust it if necessary.

I know there are more somewhere, as I have more biographies, autobiographies & self help books. I’ve got until 11 May 2011, so can read these by then. I need to sort them, decide which to read first & then give the rest their own shelf.

Goal 100 - Locate, organise & read my lurking un-read non-fiction books 11 months ago

I need 2 more goals & this is very much needed. I have 2 huge bags of un-read nf books that I collected from my bedside, the bookshelves in the bedroom & the bookshelves & under my desk in the study. There are probably more lurking too …

22 - Chat to people I don't know all ready at the Discworld Convention - done! 11 months ago

It’s so very easy at these things, to be in a bubble & only chat with existing friends, even though you’re surrounded by throngs of people. I made a conscious effort to say hi to everyone who smiled at me, seek out people I knew online, but hadn’t previously met in rl & to initiate or enthusiastically join in with conversations with random strangers / witches / feegles / half naked men & women.

I seemed to have spent most of the time in the hotel swimming pool watching Kate swim underwater, rather than chilling in the bar area chatting with friends or attending workshops, so next time, I may either go on my own or take the whole family, so Andy can go in the pool with Kate & Holls & I can socialise. Andy prefers the first option, but Kate will be very disappointed to not go.

13 Spend my OU refund money in 2009 & study something interesting - done! 11 months ago

Registered for 2 short courses over the phone on Friday, though need to phone them tomorrow & check it went through ok, as the computers weren’t working properly.

Feb – A174 Start Writing Fiction
May – T189 Digital photography: creating and sharing better images

I decided last year when writing my 101 goals to take my focus off a degree & study something just for fun. I had enough money in my transfer credit balance to pay for 2 short courses :)

I was inspired by Celeste to take the writing fiction course & am very interested in photography, but very un-knowledgeable about most of it.

I haven’t thought past these courses, but hope to be working by the time they finish, so may have work-related studying & training to do by then.
